rock star!

 

besides the obligatory legos and some nice books, cookies and other stuff from friends, by far the coolest gift Malcolm got for his birthday was this Mini Les Paul guitar, courtesy of our cool friends Rob and Rachel (mum and dad mucked in, but it was really R&R that did this -- cheers! ). 

Good grief... he cottoned right to it.  I thought he might as I'd caught him hamming it up pretending to play guitar in front of the mirror before and making up his own crazy lyrics.  As you can see from the video he is not shy. 

A friend of mine once said that the baby Malcolm looked like Mark E. Smith from The Fall.  I can now say that he sings like him n'all.

Of course, all this makes his aging punk rocker dad glow with pride.  Can't Hardly Wait to teach him standards.
